Field Studies

 

The grounds extend down to the Menai Strait and include a private dock, two fresh water ponds, two areas of rocky shore and mature mixed woodland. The Centre is within two hours traveling distance of major conurbations and offers quick and easy access to Snowdonia and the coast of Anglesey.

Of more importance however, when considering a residential, are the aspects of personal; social development and educational value. At the Conway Centre we feel we can offer all this plus much more related to running Field Studies, whether it be as part of a cross-curricular course or as a course in it's own right. The Conway Centre can offer:

  • Geography and Biology specialists on the staff.
  • Laboratories, Lecture Theatre and work rooms on site.
  • Seashore, fresh water ponds and mature mixed woodland within the grounds.
  • Excellent & wide ranging Field sites within easy access.
  • Plankton Trawls.
  • An opportunity to cover attainment targets that are difficult to cover in the classroom.
  • An opportunity to encompass other subjects within an environmental theme.
  • Help before the Course by coming into school to talk to parents or colleagues.
